Biography

Neil L. Weinreb was born on May 31, 1959 in Brooklyn, New York.  He believed that he would one day be an attorney from a very young age.  Neil attended James Madison High School, in Brooklyn where he qualified to perform a one semester legal internship in his Junior year at the law offices of Spatt & Bauman, P.C. in Manhattan.  Spatt & Bauman was a personal injury firm headed by Arthur D. Spatt.  Neil was privileged to spend his entire school week at the firm and with Arthur D. Spatt (who today is a federal judge in the Eastern District of New York).  Neil attended trials, judicial conferences, hearings, mediations, and even appellate oral argument with Mr. Spatt and had an insider's look at the legal system before ever attending college.  Neil says that many of these experiences are still engrained in his memory and he believes that they have profoundly affected him and the way he practices law today.

Neil had a robust career in the pest control industry working for a number of medium to large companies in sales and management prior to attending law school.  Neil is a Florida State Certified Pest Control Operator in the fields of General Household Pest Control, Termite Control and Wood Destroying Organisms, Lawn and Ornamental Pest Control, and Fumigation.  Neil owned and managed his own pest control company in Jacksonville, as well as a software development business.  Neil moved to Jacksonville in the early 1980's to open a pest control branch for Sears Authorized Pest Control.

Neil attended Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida where he served as a staff editor on the law review, made the Dean's List on two occasions, received Academic Excellence Awards in the subjects of Contracts, Bankruptcy, and Antitrust Law, and graduated 9 of 72 in his class.

Neil worked for the Law Offices of Gerald S. Bettman in Jacksonville, Florida after graduating from Florida Coastal where he began working as a clerk for Mr. Bettman.  Neil worked on Criminal Law, Family Law, Federal Appeals, and Personal Injury Cases.  Mr. Bettman promoted Neil to associate attorney on the same day he was sworn in to practice law.  Neil next accepted an associate position at the law firm of Schutt, Schmidt, & Burnett, in Jacksonville where he worked on Personal Injury, Products Liability, Insurance Defense, and State Court Appellate Cases.
